Thank you for purchasing SUZUKI Xylophone/Metallophone. To ensure
you use the instruments safely for a long time, please read this manual
carefully. Be sure to keep this manual in a safe place for reference, as
needed.
Precautions for use
Do not hit with a hard object.
Never hit this product with a hard or sharp object as it may cause
damage.
Do not modify or disassemble.
It may damage the product.
Do not apply strong force to this product.
The central part of the tone bar is tuned and not as thick. It may
cause product damage if applying too much pressure or force.
Do not use the attached mallet for any purpose other than
playing.
Never swing, throw, or hit people or objects with the mallet.
Use and store in a well ventilated place out of direct sunlight.
Do not use or store in a hot place, a place with high humidity, or a
place where the temperature and humidity change suddenly. It may
damage the product.
Do not drag or lay the product.
It may damage the product or damage the floor. It may also cause
an unexpected accident.
Do not use the product for any purpose other than the musical
performance.
Standing or climbing on the product may damage the instrument
and cause an accident.
Use on a flat surface with enough space.
Using or storing the product in an unsuitable place may cause
damage.
Clean this product with a soft cloth.
Do not use chemicals or solvents such as alcohol, thinner or
benzene. It may damage the product.
About the change of pitch
N o t l i m i t e d t o t h i s p r o d u c t , t h e p i t c h o f x y l o p h o n e s a n d
metallophones generally alters due to the changes in temperature
and humidity. The higher the temperature or humidity, the lower
the pitch, and the lower the temperature or humidity, the higher the
pitch. This is a phenomenon that occurs due to the characteristics
of the instrument and is not a malfunction.
How to set tone bars
16 note model
The 16 note model comes with 13 basic and 3 chromatic notes. Set the
three chromatic notes in the L-shaped bracket on the front of the box.
22 note model
Set the 3 chromatic note bars that come with 16 note model on the 6
notes model side.
Please store the attached mallet upright in the mallet hole.
Tips on performance
There are two points on the tone bar called "node" and good sounds are
not produced near the node. Hit the center of the bar with a mallet, to
achieve the correct response.
