BASIC CONNECTIONS
Note:
-
Only one stereo audio lead and one video lead are supplied.
For instructions on how to make the aerial connections
between the TV
and the VCR, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the VCR.
Example 1: TV, VCR and Audio system
It is possible to watch and listen to Dolby-encoded
TV programmed
and video
cassettes.

Connect a stereo audio lead between the AUDIO OUT sockets on the VCR
and the AUDIO INPUT sockets on the TV.
Connect a video lead between the VIDEO OUT socket on the VCR and the
VIDEO INPUT socket on the TV.
Connect a stereo audio lead between the "VARIABLE"
AUDIO OUTPUT
sockets on the TV and the LINE IN sockets on the HT-D47U.
Set the INTERNAL
SPEAKERS
switch on the TV to OFF.
Connect a stereo audio lead between the PROCESSOR
OUT sockets on the
HT-D47U and the AUX or VIDEO input sockets on the audio system,
Operation

Press the SOURCE buttonjo
select "LINE.
Set the input selector on the audio system to AUX or VIDEO.
Set the volume control on the audio system to approximately
the 10:00
position. It maybe necessary to readjust the volume control slightly, (Do not
change this volume setting once the correct level has been selected.)
Adjust the overall volume level by pressing the ~ or ~ MASTER VOLUME
button.
Select a TV channel that is broadcasting
a programme with Dolby Surround
sound, or play a video cassette.
Adjust the centre and surround volume, if necessary.

When viewing a video cassette, select the video mode on the TV,
Note:
Dolby Surround cannot be heard unless the AUDIO OUTPUT sockets from the
VCR is connected to the TV. The RF (aerial out) connection does not supply a
stereo signal to the TV while a tape is playing or when the VCR tuner is used.
Example 2: TV, VCR and Audio system with tape monitor
It
is possible to watch and listen to Dolby-encoded
TV programmed
and video
cassettes.
It is also possible to listen to programme
material from the audio
sources connected
to the audio system and process them with the Dolby Pro
Logic decoder built into the HT-D47. (The tape monotor function must be turned
on at all times. )

Connect a stereo audio lead between the AUDIO OUT sockets on the VCR
and the AUDIO INPUT sockets on the TV.
Connect a video lead between the VIDEO OUT socket on the VCR and the
VIDEO INPUT socket on the TV.
Connect a stereo audio lead between the "VARIABLE"
AUDIO OUTPUT
sockets on the TV and the AV1 IN sockets on the HT-D47U.
Set the INTERNAL
SPEAKERS
switch on the TV to OFF.
Connect a stereo audio lead between the LINE IN sockets on the HT-D47U
and the REC OUT or TAPE OUT sockets on the audio system.
Connect a stereo audio lead between the PROCESSOR
OUTsocketson
the
HT-D47U and the TAPE PLAY or TAPE IN sockets on the audio system.
Operation
1.
Press the SOURCE button to select "AV1".

Select 'LINE"
when listening
to programme
material from the audio
sources connected to the audio system.

Switch on the tape monitor function on the audio system.
3.
Follow steps 3-5
of "Operation"
under "Example 1" above.
