CAUTION!
Wear working gloves during all maintenance work!
Fault duringoperation
Motor does not run
Reduced motor performance
Motor stops during mowing
Grass catcher does not fill
up completely
Battery operating period

Possible cause
Safety key not inserted
Control cable or switch is defec-
tive
Battery is missing or is incorrectly
seated
Cutter blade blocked
Fuse had broken
(Fuse is installed inside machine)
Battery is empty
Cutter blade is blunt
Too much grass in the ejector
Cutter blade is blunt
Motor overloaded
Lawn is wet
Grass catcher clogged
Too much grass in the discharge
chute or housing
Cutter blade blunt
Cutting height to low
Grass too long or too wet
Mowing speed too high
Solution
Insert safety key
Caution! Do not operate mower!
Consult Hitachi service center
Correctly seat battery
Caution! Do not carry out main-
tenance on cutter blade without
working gloves!
Free the cutter blade from in-
terference
Start lawn mower on short
grass
Consult Hitachi service center
Load the battery
Have cutter blade sharpened at
Hitachi service center
Remove grass, clean baffle plate
Have cutter blade sharpened at
Hitachi service center
Switch off the battery-operated
lawn mower and restart on level
ground or short grass
Allow lawn to dry
Clean the grass catcher grid
Clean discharge chute / housing
Correct cutting height
Have cutter blade sharpened at
Hitachi service center
Raise cutting height
Improve conditions: allow to dry,
raise cutting height
Reduce mowing speed. Clean di-
scharge chute / housing, the cut-
ter blade must turn freely
