and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate the power
tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands

or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power
tools operation. If damaged, have the power tool
repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by

Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
5. Service
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified
repair person using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power
tool is maintained.
6. Electrical safety
Your tool is double insulated; therefore no earth
wire is required. Always check that the main voltage
corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
Warning! If the power cord is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, authorized
BLACK+DECKER Service Center or an equally
qualified person in order to avoid damage or
injury. If the power cord is replaced by an equally
qualified person, but not authorized by
BLACK+DECKER, the warranty will not be valid.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
f Read instruction manual thoroughly before using this
tool.
f Be sure the switch is in OFF position before
connecting tool to power supply.
f Switch OFF immediately if tool is jammed in work.
f Disconnected from power source when cleaning or
making adjustments to the tool.
f Be sure tool is properly held or set for right use before
turning switch to ON.
f Maintain tool with care. Follow instructions for
lubricating and changing accessories.
f Store tool in a clean dry place after disconnecting
from power source.
f Keep air vents unobstructed for proper motor cooling.
f Do not lay tool down on shoe when the blades are
exposed. This can chip the blades.
f Keep side discharge chute unobstructed at all times.
f Never reach under the tool for any reason unless it is
turned off and unplugged. Blades are exposed and
extremely sharp.
f Use this tool for working with wood and wood products
only.
f Never operate without securely holding the front
handle.
f Always operate planer with two hands.
f Planer blades are extremely sharp - Handle with great
care.
MOTOR
Be sure your power supply agrees with nameplate
marking. Do not operate AC tools on DC. This information
is printed on the nameplate. All BLACK+DECKER tools
are factory-tested; if this tool does not operate, check the
power supply.
USE OF EXTENSION CORDS
Construction
Make sure the extension cord is in good condition before
