Resetting the Ink Level Warning Display

If you use the Status Monitor, you can confirm the level of the ink supply on your computer
screen.
4 How to Use the Status Monitor
We recommend that you decide to replace the ink cartridge by checking the both icons in Ink
Information and messages in the Status Information. Please replace it after the no ink error
message is displayed.
Viewing Ink Information
If you accidentally replace an ink cartridge before the no ink error appears, the printer may not
be able to accurately report the ink supply. For example, the low ink massage may appear even
when there is an ample amount of ink remaining in the cartridge.
If that happens, you must reset the ink level warning display when you replace an ink cartridge.
An ink detection system will be reset to match the actual ink volume and the detected value.
Synchronization of ink supply messages and the actual ink level now works properly.
Note
89
Reset ink level only after you have replaced an ink cartridge after the appearance
of low ink alert in the Ink Information or in the Status Information of the Status
Monitor. Do not reset it if you do not replace a cartridge when the low ink alert
appears, or you replace a cartridge after the no ink error message appears.
Select Resets the ink level warning display immediately after installing the new
cartridge. If you do not perform the procedure after just having installed the new
cartridge, the next message may not accurately match the level of ink in the
cartridge. For example, if you use the printer for a while after installing a new ink
cartridge without resetting the ink level warning display, the no ink error may occur
before the low ink message displays while ink remains in the cartridge.
