Stopping the Machine

To stop the machine, release the traction pedal to the neutral
position.
Set the parking brake whenever you leave the machine.
Remember to remove the key from the ignition switch.
CAUTION
Children or bystanders may be injured if they
attempt to move or operate the tractor while it is
unattended.
Always remove the ignition key and set the parking
brake when leaving the machine unattended, even
if just for a few minutes.

Operating the Mower

Raising and Lowering the Mower
The deck lift switch raises and lowers the mower deck
11). The engine must be running for you to use this switch.
1. Deck lift switch
To lower the mower deck, push the switch forward.
To raise the mower deck, push the switch rearward.
Important: Do not continue to hold the switch back
after the mower has fully raised. Doing so will damage
the hydraulic system.
Engaging the Power Take Off (PTO)
The power take off (PTO) switch starts and stops the mower
blades and some powered attachments.
1. If the engine is cold, allow the engine to warm up 5 to
10 minutes before engaging the PTO.
2. While seated in the seat, make sure the traction pedal is
in the neutral position and the engine is at full throttle.

To disengage, push the PTO switch to the off position.

The Safety Interlock System

CAUTION
If the safety interlock switches are disconnected or
damaged the machine could operate unexpectedly
causing personal injury.
• Do not tamper with the interlock switches.
• Check the operation of the interlock switches
daily and replace any damaged switches before
operating the machine.
Understanding the Safety Interlock
System
The safety interlock system is designed to prevent the engine
from starting unless:
You are sitting on the seat or the parking brake is engaged.
The power take off (PTO) is disengaged.
The traction pedal is in the neutral position
The engine temperature is below the maximum operating
temperature.
The safety interlock system also is designed to stop the engine
when the traction pedal is moved from the neutral position
with the parking brake engaged. If you rise from the seat
when the PTO is engaged there is a 1 second delay and then
the engine stops.
