Two-in-one telephone system
The GSM 909 Executive is based on the combination of
the GSM 909 DUAL or GSM 909 DUAL S and an Exe-
cutive handset. Placed on the dashboard or in the rear
of the car, the full sized ergonomic handset can be used
as a normal car phone or as a tool for handsfree conver-
sation. When leaving the car you simply take your GSM
909 DUAL/ DUAL S with you. Without changing the
SIM card you can use the Executive handset when you
are in the car and the GSM 909 DUAL/ DUAL S when
you are out and about.
How to use the GSM 909 Executive
The Executive handset is operated in the same way as
the GSM 909 DUAL/ DUAL S. However, please note the
following:
A call always has to be answered by pressing ANSWER
and ended by pressing END both in and outside the
cradle.

On/off key
Press the key for one
second to switch your
telephone on or off.
Side key
Same function as the
arrow key.

If you leave the handset in the cradle the handset is in
hands-free mode. If you take it out of the cradle it turns
into private mode.
During conversation you can switch between handsfree
mode and private mode by taking out the handset or
putting it back into the cradle.
When the Executive handset is in use, display and key-
board on the GSM 909 DUAL/DUAL S are locked.
There is no battery indicator in the display of the
Executive handset.
Answer call
Arrow key
In standby mode:
Scroll through menus,
phone book, lists, events,
messages, etc.
In conversation mode:
Volume up/down.
The setup menu system offers you the possibility of set-
ting the individual sub menus and options according to
your own personal wishes. This system is similar to the
setup menu system of the GSM 909 DUAL/DUAL S and
only varies in the setting of the key tone and the
backlight illumination.
How to set the key tone on or off
The Executive handset has one keypad tone to switch on
or off.
1. Press MENU
2. Select Phone setup (menu 3) using

How to adjust the display backlight
The backlight illumination of the display can be set to
high or low.
1. Press MENU
2. Select Phone setup (menu 3) using

and confirm.
6. Select Power saving backlight (3542),
Backlight high or Backlight low
(35421/35422) and confirm.
