Fitting / replacing the active
charcoal filter
If the cooker hood is connected for
recirculation, an active charcoal filter
must be inserted in addition to the
grease filter. It is designed to absorb
cooking odours.
It is fitted in the chimney above the
grease filter.
Active charcoal filters can be ob-
tained from your dealer or the Miele
Spare Parts Department.
Refer to the section "Technical data"
for type and reference number.
^ Before fitting or replacing the active
charcoal filter, the stainless steel filter
and the grease filter must first be
taken out, (see previous section for
instructions on how to do this).
^ When fitting for the first time:
A guide is installed for extraction
mode which has to be removed for
recirculation mode.
Slightly loosen the two screws on this
guide and pull it off.

^ To remove the charcoal filter pull
down on the tab at the back of the fil-
ter.
^ Take the new filter out of its packag-
ing.
^ Fit the filter into the front of the chim-
ney and push it upwards at the back
and press it firmly into position.
^ Replace the grease filter and the
stainless steel filter.
When fitting for the first time:
^ Set the operating hours counter to
suit your requirements, (see "Opera-
tion – Setting / Altering the filter oper-
ating hours counter").
