Chapter 7
Troubleshooting
If you have difficulty operating the DCD1+PS, see if any of the symptoms listed below apply to your
problem and follow the recommended remedy.

Power

You cannot turn on the DCD1+PS.
• Make sure the AC adaptor is connected to a
suitable AC outlet.
See "Connecting the AC Adaptor" on page 19.

Main Unit

The DCD1+PS does not appear to operate
correctly.
• Turn off the DCD1+PS, wait 5 seconds, then
turn it back on.
• Make sure the Piano Type switch is set
correctly to match your piano type.
See "Setting Piano Type" on page 20.
• If the problem continues, consult your Yamaha
piano dealer.

Remote Control

You cannot control the DCD1+PS with the
remote control.
• Make sure that you are pointing the remote
control at the DCD1+PS's remote control sensor.
• Make sure that you are within the remote
control's specified operating range.
See "Using the Remote Control" on page 8.
• Make sure that the remote control's batteries
have been installed correctly.
See "Installing Batteries in the Remote
Control" on page 8.
• Check the condition of the remote control's
batteries.
See "Battery Replacement" on page 9.

CD Playback

Even though the CD is inserted, the LED
display continues to show "00" and
playback cannot be started.
• Check if the inserted CD is an audio CD.
• The CD may not be recognized if the reading
surface of the CD is dirty. Clean the reading
surface of the CD.
• The CD may not be recognized if there is a
scratch on the reading surface of the CD.
No sound is heard.
• Make sure your piano is connected to the
DCD1+PS properly.
See Chapter 3,"Connecting the DCD1+PS".
• Turn up the volume using the VOLUME knob
on the DCD1+PS.
See "Adjusting the Volume" on page 27.
The piano parts cannot be heard.
• Make sure the Piano Type switch is set
correctly.
See "Setting Piano Type" on page 20.
• Make sure the DCD1+PS is connected to your
piano correctly.
See Chapter 3, "Connecting the DCD1+PS".
• Adjust the volume level using the volume
control on your piano.
The audio parts cannot be heard.
• Make sure that the amp's volume control is set
to an appropriate level.
• Readjust the volume balance using the
BALANCE knob on the DCD1+PS.
