61-point AF (4)
The number and placement of
cross-type points when using
f/8 lenses
AF shooting is possible on most lenses using
all AF points with a maximum aperture value
of f/8
When using a compatible lens + extender on the EOS-1D
X Mark II, AF is possible using all 61 points, even with a
maximum effective aperture of f/8.
Combining many Canon EF lenses with f/4 max.
apertures with a 2x extender, or f/5.6 lenses with a 1.4x
extender, you can still autofocus using some or all of the
61 AF points. Lens + extender cominations in Group F
allow AF at all 61 points; lens + extenders in Group I or
J will have fewer AF points available, but still allow for
AF away from the center of the viewfinder.
