3. Swirches and controls should be set as follows unless otherwise
specified.
5. Cleaning of the Revolving Drum
(1) Fold a chamois (2-034-697-00) or a knir cloth into 4 or more
files, slightly impregnate it wirh a cleaning liquid (9-919-573-
00), and softly touch the drum with it and manually rorate the
drum slowly counærclockwise by 2 to 3 turns for cleaning.
(2) At that dme, be carefrrl not to move the chamois vertically ro
the headtip. Otherwise, the headtipmayprobably be damaged.
6. Be careful not to move RV I and RV2 on rhe RF AMP board in the
mechanism assembly.
7. To adjust the tape path and guides, remove the holder
as shown in the diagram and use the DATholderjig
A). This will make it easier to perform adjusrments.

Firstturning the pulley counterclockwise to put it in
out stâtus will. make removal and reattachment of
holder assembly easier.
. To perform adjustmenE, turn the pulley clockwise to put
in loading in status, load the cassette tape and set the
switch to the ON position.

4. Creating an end sensorcassene
(l)
Press ûre tape slider lock and move the slider in the direction
indicated by the arrow.

(2) Opcn the lid and cut the tape.
Turn the hubs until the tape is compleæly inside the cassette
(bothTandSsides).
The ed sensorcassette forend sensoradjusrnentis now ready
for use.

8. Testmode
The tesmode is effecædby shoningTP CXTESTMAIN,
SERVO and XTEST DISP) on the main board and the controt
switch board and GND.
(l) Test mode (main. sewo)
Tum OFF the power switch, connecr XTEST MAIN and
XTEST SERVO on the main board to GND and perfonn the
following adjusunents.
. Tape path ftne adjustment
. DPG adjussnent
. ATFpilot (GCA) checking
. Endsensorchecking
. F'WDrorquechecking
. FWD back ænsion checking and adjusrment
(2) Test mode (display)
You can check the following FL display tube and ttre panel
switch by tuming OFF the power switch, disconnecting CN932
on the power board, removing fleûble board CN752 on the
control switch boand, connecting XTEST DISP to GND,
connccting CN932 again and then turning ON the power
switch.
