Temperature

In addition to monitoring the status of cooling fans the
temperature of critical devices is also monitored. This is
done because while any fan may be running the airflow
may also be obstructed which could result in temperatures
that exceed operating limits.
To view TEMPATURE STATUS, from any
Projectionist Terminal display, tap the
Temperature Status icon. The
TEMPERATURE STATUS pane appears
(illustrated below) and displays status indicators for each
of the following sub-systems.
• Enclosure (Auditorium Unit)
• Projector (Projector sub-system)
• Panel (Imaging Devices)
The temperature of the imaging devices is important to
monitor because as the temperature of individual imaging
devices vary in relationship to each other the quality of the
on-screen presentation could change (color shift).

System Message

During normal operation the Message
indicator, which appears at the far right of
the Status Indicator group, is not
illuminated and if pressed will appear as
depressed and the Projectionist Terminal reverts to the
SHOW INFORMATION screen.
During operation messages may be
generated in the Auditorium Unit that
require the attention of the projectionist.
When this occurs the Message indicator
will be illuminated as shown to the right. Tap the Message
indicator to display the message. Once the message has
been read tap OK to dismiss the popup.

Power ON/OFF

Power ON/OFF
Caution: In the R220 based Auditorium Unit, (Mains)
Power to the projector subsystem coming from AC
(MAINS) distribution panel is routed through circuit
breakers located on the rear panel of the Auditorium Unit.
Appropriate precautions should be taken when working in
and around the system as other power in the Auditorium
Unit is not controlled by these circuit breakers. In addition,
power to critical devices contained in the Auditorium Unit
enclosure is supported by an internal UPS and therefore
may still be present even when the AC (MAINS) power is
removed or turned off at the distribution panel. The UPS
insures that, should a failure of mains power occurs, the
various devices are able to execute a controlled shutdown
and content remains secure.
Once the mains power is applied to the Auditorium Unit its
Power ON sequence is initiated. An initial Power ON
dialog appears on the Projector Control Terminal and
when completed the Welcome screen appears.
Note: The Shutdown process, whether executed as a
normal shutdown (initiated by tapping the Power button on
the Projectionist Terminal) or as a unplanned shutdown
(loss of mains supply) results in KDMs for the Content
Elements being deleted. Whenever you execute a
Shutdown or remove Mains power from the system you
MUST reload KDMs.

MAINS - A/C ON

When mains power is applied to the system from a power
failure or AC (Mains) OFF condition, you will see a
number of "start up" screens appear on the Projectionist
Terminal.
The Welcome screen appears
briefly (not shown), the RED
Status Lamp is flashing, and
the Power Up System
message is displayed.
Verify that the Projector
MAINS circuit breaker is set to ON by checking the
MAINS indicator on the Projector Status and then tap OK
to initiate the system Power UP sequence. The GREEN
Status Indicator Lamp will begin flashing.
System Start Up may take up to 7 or 8 minutes and begins
with the RAID. Following an interval to allow the RAID
to stabilize, the Media Block starts and then the SMS
Server.
