  • Page 12 First-time Operation n About the partition structure You can shrink a part of an existing partition to create unallocated disk space, from which you can create a new partition. In the default setting, you can use a single partition. CAUTION l Do not add or delete partitions in Windows 10, as the Windows area and re- covery partition must be adjacent to each other in Windows 10.

Do not place any ob- ject on its surface and do not press down strongly with sharp-pointed or hard objects that may leave marks (e.g., nails, pencils and ball point pens). l Avoid any harmful substances such as oil from getting into the touchscreen. The pointer may not work correctly.

  • Page 18 Handling and Maintenance l Automatic brightness adjustment The computer is equipped with an automatic brightness adjustment function that adjusts the display screen based on the ambient light sensor. You can configure the automatic adjustment function as follows. A Touch (Start) at the lower left, and then touch (Settings) - [System] - [Display].

Strong shocks from dropping the computer may result in damage. l Tether for Stylus (Optional) When using the stylus with tether (optional), do not pull the tether with exces- sive force. The dedicated pen (optional) may hit the computer, person’s body or other objects when released. Maintenance If drops of water or other stains get on the surface of the LCD panel, wipe them off immediately.

    Installing Software Installing software will return the computer to the default condition. When you install the software, the flash memory data will be erased. Back up important data to other media or an external hard disk before installa- tion. CAUTION l Do not delete the Recovery Partition on the flash memory. The disk space in the partition is not available to store data. To check the Recovery Partition, perform the following methods.

Turn on the computer, and touch top left of the screen while [Panasonic] boot screen is displayed. l If the [Panasonic] boot screen is not displayed, turn on the computer while touching top left of the screen.

Touch top left of the screen while [Panasonic] boot screen is displayed. The Setup Utility starts up. l If the password is requested, enter the Supervisor Password.
  • Page 25 Touch [Recovery ALL Partitions.]. At the confirmation message, touch [YES]. Installation starts according to the instructions on the screen. (It will take approximately several tens of minutes / 20 min- utes.) l Do not interrupt installation, for example by turning off the computer or performing other operation.

Turn on the computer, and touch top left of the screen while [Panasonic] boot screen is displayed. l If the [Panasonic] boot screen is not displayed, turn on the computer while touching top left of the screen.
  • Page 27 Touch [Exit] and double-touch your DVD drive in [Boot Override]. The computer will restart. Touch [Recovery]. Touch [Reinstall Windows] and touch [Next]. At the confirmation message, touch [YES]. Confirm the contents of “EULA”, and touch [Accept.] if you continue. At the License Agreement screen, touch [Yes, I agree to the provisions above and wish to continue!] and touch [Next].
