    These operating instructions describe all functions and operating proce- dures. Those operations you can use is de- pend on the individual class of service of your telephone and on the configu- ration of your system. When cleaning your telephone, do not use abrasive cleaning agents or chemicals that attack plastic.

    Hicom 150 E Office and optiset E You can use your telephone to access the functions of the ® Hicom 150 E Office communication system (Release 2.0 and 2.2) via func- tion keys and codes. Symbols Symbol Meaning Lift the handset (off-hook). Speak.

    Settings Setting the Ringer Volume The telephone is idle Press one of these keys. Enter 1. You hear a ringing tone. Adjust the volume. To save the setting simultaneously press both keys simultaneously. Setting the Ringer Pitch The telephone is idle Press one of these keys.

    Answering Calls Your telephone rings Lift the handset. Speak. Handsfree Answer You can hear an alerting tone and an an- nouncement from a colleague (=speaker call). You can answer the caller (=handsfree an- swer). Lift the handset. Speak. Making Calls Lift the handset.
  • Page 8: Reserve Trunk

    Reserve Trunk Lift the handset. Dial the external code and external number. If configured, you can wait five seconds, until the busy signal stops, when an external line is busy and thus reserve this line for yourself. Then replace the handset. Once the line is free, your telephone will ring.

    Call Transfer You are engaged in a call and would like to transfer it to another party Press the Consultation key. Consultation Dial the telephone number of the other party Æ (internal/external dialing Replace the handset: either before the other internal party answers or wait until after the other internal/external party answers.

    Retrieving Message A message text has been recorded for you Lift the handset. You hear a special dial tone or an announcement. Press the illuminated Message Waiting key. A connection is made with the party who sent Message Waiting the message text or to the voice mail system. Enter the code #683.

    Dialing Speed Dial Numbers Lift the handset. Press the Speed Dial key. Speed Dial Enter the code Enter a speed dial number: 9 for station speed dial numbers. 000 - 299 or 000 - 999 for system speed dial numbers (consult System Support). Storing station speed dial numbers Lift the handset.

    Activating the microphone (mute off) Press the illuminated Mute key; the LED goes Mute out. Press the Consultation key. Consultation Enter the code #52. Open Listening While engaged in a call and using the handset, you can activate and deactivate the speaker so that other people in the room can temporarily listen to the call.

    Accessing Functions Via Codes You can enter codes to access the following functions. Call Waiting Lift the handset. Dial the internal station number. If the party is busy, wait approximately five seconds. The party is then called. Accepting a Waiting Call You hear a bleep tone during a call Replace the handset (the current call is dis- connected).

    Meaning of Functions A brief description of all possible functions is provided below. The functions you can use depend on the individual class of service of your telephone and on the configuration of your system. Æ Accepting a waiting call (call waiting) ( While a call is in progress you can answer a second call that is waiting.
  • Page 38 Æ Caller ID suppression, external ( Before dialing an external number you can suppress the display of the caller’s telephone number and name on the called party’s screen. Æ Central COS change ( You can lock other telephones to prevent unauthorized use, and unlock them again.
  • Page 39 Æ Night answer ( You can forward all calls to a fixed destination (default destination) or to a des- tination that you define yourself, such as after business hours. Æ Number redial ( The last external number that you dialed is automatically stored and can be dialed simply by pressing a key.
