remove jumper wires

Turn off the circuit
breakers
from your breaker
box, often found
in )/our basement,
or remove
the fuses that power
your heating/cooling
system.
Remove

Remove the existing
thermostat
front cover or main unit and leave all wires connected.

Use your smartphone
to take a photo
of the wire connections
for later reference.

If any of the individual
wires leading
into the wall are connected
to each other
by short
jumper
wires. Jumper
wires are short wires between
two connectors
Remove
these
jumper
wires, without
disconnecting
the main wires
