    DLP Projector Installation and Adjustment Manual (This document) describes the procedures to install, adjust and maintain the projector PH1202HL/ PH1002HL. For safe and correct installation, adjustment and maintenance of the projector, carefully read this document before considering the layout of the unit and installation. Please keep this document under care by the company who installed or adjusted the projector.

Doing so can lead to melting of the cap due to the heat emitted from the light output. • Do not place any objects, which are easily affected by heat, in front of the projector lens. Doing so could lead to the object melting from the heat that is emitted from the light output.

    1. Before Setting Up Your Projector 1-1. Clearance for Installing the Projector Allow ample clearance between the projector and its surroundings as shown below. Avoid installing the projector in a place where air movement from the HVAC is directed at the projector. Heated air from the HVAC can be taken in by the projector’s intake vent.

Installation for Tilt-free and Portrait projection This projector can be set to any angle within a vertical 360° range, however, it cannot be installed with right or left slant besides the portrait projection. If you install the projector vertically you can project screens from your computer and other sources in portrait orientation.

Before Setting Up Your Projector Lens shifting range This projector is equipped with a lens shift function for adjusting the position of the projected image by using the LENS SHIFT buttons (→ page 31). The lens can be shifted within the range shown below. NOTE: • Please do not use the lens shift function when projecting portrait images. Please use it with the lens in the center.

First connect the supplied power cord’s three-pin plug to the AC IN terminal of the projector, and then connect the other plug of the supplied power cord in the wall outlet. WARNING: TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS UNIT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.

Since NP-PH1202HL is a laser projector, we do not release the procedure to mount an optional lens, i.e., mount and adjustment of an optional lens must be performed by a qualified technician. NP-9LS08ZM1 is used in the explanation For other lens units, please take same procedures to mount, however, the lens hood is equipped on NP-9LS08ZM1 exclusively, the procedure to mounting/removing the lens hood is not required for others.

Turning on the Projector NOTE: • The projector has two power switches: A main power switch and a POWER button (POWER ON and OFF on the remote control) • Turning on the projector: 1.     5. Maintenance This section describes the simple maintenance procedures you should follow to clean the filters, the lens, and the cabinet. 5-1. Cleaning the Filters The air-filter sponge keeps dust and dirt from getting inside the projector and should be frequently cleaned. If the filter is dirty or clogged, your projector may overheat.

  • Page 83 6. Appendix Remote Interlock Terminal This terminal functions as safety device for the projector. The contacts are normally closed. When an abnormality occurs, the contacts open to immediately stop the projector (interlock state) (shipped with a shorting bar installed). By replacing the shorting bar with wiring and attaching it to the contacts, the projector can be immediately stopped remotely when an abnormality occurs in the projector.
