POWERING THE SCALE / SET UP Powering the Scale – Inserting Batteries 1. Locate the battery compartment underneath the scale base and remove battery compartment cover. 2. Place 6 new AA batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure the ‘+’ and ‘-’ are positioned correctly. -

2. Wait for “0.0” LB or “0.0” KG to appear on the display. 3. Press the kg/LB button to toggle to the desired weight measuring unit. Locking the Weight Measuring Unit in KG (553KL Only) Note: The weight measuring unit can be locked to only measure in KG or LB. -

4. Do not spray the scale with liquid. Never place the scale in water. Replacement Parts Parts are available if a piece of the scale needs to be replaced. Contact Health o meter Professional Scales Customer Service at 1-800-815-6615 to inquire about the availability of these replacement parts. -

With the scale off, press and hold the ZERO/CLEAR as well as the “XXXXX” kg/LB button (553KL) or the blank blue button (553KG). While holding down both buttons, momentarily press the ON/OFF button to power on the scale. When “CAL” appears on the display, release all buttons. -
