■ How to use Smart Archive

What is the "Smart Archive" function?
This technology provides a recording quality that has been optimized for storing DVDs for
a long time when saving data to archival DVDs. For an optimal recording, the write speed is
automatically selected and a recording algorithm specialized for long term archiving is also
applied. To use this function, an archival recording-compliant drive, the relevant software and
Smart Archive supported discs are required.
・How to use the Smart Archive
1. Insert the provided software CD into the PC.
2. In the Autorun window, select the "Install Cyberlink Media Suite" option to install the software.
3. Launch Cyberlink Media Suite.
4. Click Data & Backup and then click Create a Data Disc.
5. Click Archival DVD on the right-hand side of the Data Disc column.
Caution
If the Archival DVD icon does not appear on the right-hand side of the Data Disc column on
the screen, check the drive and software.
Only when Smart Archive Technology is supported by the drive and software, does the
Archival DVD icon appear. (Cyberlink Media Suite version 10 or higher and Power2Go
version 8 or higher are required).
6. Select the data to be recorded to create the file list and click Burn Now.
7. Check the burning options and click the Burn button to create an archival DVD.
Caution
The procedures to burn a DVD using Smart Archive function are the same as those to burn
a data DVD using Cyberlink. For more information, refer to the Help section of Cyberlink.
Information about the message window that may appear during the burning
preparation or Smart Archive burning process
Insert a Disc: The inserted disc does not support Smart Archive function. Select an
appropriate disc for burning.
Click Cancel and then click the DVD of the Data Disc column to burn a normal data DVD.

▶BifrosTec 10995 Series ('For Delivery' series only. Does NOT support 10995K, 10995B)
▶Recommended normal DVD-R disc (NOT support DVD+R or RW.)
Note
In case of recommended normal DVD-R, Smart Archive may provide more stable and better
recording quality than normal recording for archiving.
Supported media list will be updated without prior notice.
