4.8.2 Mounting

To provide on-board sensor technology's functionality throughout the entire service life, a permanent
connection between the two housing bushings of the Bosch TRACI Tag and the tagged vehicle,
machine or other asset is necessary.
When mounting the Bosch TRACI Tag, please
make sure that the side with the Bosch Logo is
facing upwards.
To mount of the Bosch TRACI Tag, use M6
screws strength class 8.8 with a ZnNi
coating. The tightening torque should be
9Nm±2Nm. The maximum preload force of
10kN may not be exceeded. For any affixing
of the Bosch TRACI Tag deviating from this,
it has to be made sure that this connection
bears all loads occurring during usage.
The Bosch TRACI Tag's housing may only touch
the mounting surface in the zones of the housing
bushings. For this reason, the evenness of the
mounting surface must be ensured. Also, the
mounting of the Bosch TRACI Tag at the two
fixing points must be carried out on the same
mounting structure.
Notice
The Bosch TRACI Tag should be mounted in unshielded conditions. It should be mounted more
than 3m away from any atenna.
The responsibility for the device's permanent fixation to the tagged vehicle, machine or other
asset throughout the entire service life lies with the customer.
 Mounting the Bosch TRACI Tag with rivets is not permitted.
 The use of washers or spacers sleeves between the housing bushing and screw-on
surface is not permitted.
 Mounting the Bosch TRACI Tag simultaneously on 2 or more different
surfaces/structures is not permitted.
 The material the Bosch TRACI tag gets fixated on has to be sufficiently corrosion-
resistant and has to ensure the safe fixation throughout the entire service life.
Note, that the loads can strongly vary depending on the machine type to be monitored, the
place of action, the installation location, the means of transport and so on.
Info
Screws and tools must be purchased separately.
