Keeping warm / Warming up
The keeping warm setting is for
keeping food warm that has just been
cooked, i.e. food that is still hot. It is not
for reheating food that has gone cold.
The keeping warm plus setting is for
keeping food warm and for warming up
food. It is also suitable for melting
chocolate.
If you have set the keeping warm
setting , the cooking zone will stay
switched on for a maximum of 2 hours.
With Keeping warm plus the
maximum operating duration depends
on the safety switch-off setting (see
"Safety features – Safety switch-off with
an overlong cooking time").
– Only use cookware (pots/pans) for
keeping food warm. Cover the pot or
pan with a lid.
– Stir firm or viscous food (mashed
potatoes, stew) occasionally.
– Nutrients are lost when food is
cooked, and continue to diminish
when food is kept warm. The longer
food is kept warm for, the greater the
loss of nutrients. Try to keep food
warm for as short a time as possible.
