EMC Directive and Low Voltage Directive

Since 1996, products to be released in the EU member states are legally obligated to prove that they
conform to the EMC Directive that is one of the EU directives. Since 1997, these products are also legally
obligated to comply with the Low Voltage Directive that is one of the EU directives.
For products admitted by the manufacturer that they comply with the EMC Directive and Low Voltage
Directive, the manufacturer must declare conformity and place a CE marking on the products.

Requirements for complying with the EMC Directive

Requirements for complying with the Low Voltage Directive
The Low Voltage Directive directs that the necessary safety is ensured for equipment driven by AC 50 to
100 V or DC 75 to 1500 V power supply.
