The drivers for the HP External USB Floppy disk drive are already incorporated in the
Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems and will be automatically found when
Windows XP users
connecting the accessory.
Using Your USB Floppy Disk Drive
NOTE
The floppy disk drive should not be disconnected during the formatting, reading or writing
modes.

For other information on your floppy disk drive please refer to the HP External USB Floppy
Disk Drive Software CD-ROM.

Click Start ➭ Run.
Using the Browse button select the CD-ROM drive (typically this would be your D: drive) and
type:

D:\Driver\xxxx
\Winnt4\Driver\Setup.exe
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the driver installation.
Remove the software CD-ROM and restart your PC.
Start the PC.
Insert the 3
-inch floppy disk into the drive. The LED busy indicator blinks green when the

drive is active.
Click on 3
-Floppy Drive icon to list the contents of the drive, access files in a normal

manner.
Save files to 3
-Floppy Drive and eject disk by pressing eject button.
