Thank you for purchasing the HPP-144 preamplifier from BEKO
Elektronik. The HPP- 432 is the highest through power rated
preamplifier available today with an RF handling capability of up
to 2 kW.
HPP-432 Specifications
NF: 0.5 dB (Typ.)
Gain (FIXED) 10 - 20 dB.
RF Power Rating: 2.0 kW CW, SSB, Digital Modes
Operating Voltage 13.8 - 15.0 VDC
Current: 900 mA
Voltage Feed: Via coaxial cable or via a separate
shielded cable.
The HPP-432 has been designed t o interface directly to the
BEKO linear amplifier series. Your BEKO linear amplifier will
provide the proper sequencing of your preamplifier if connected
as outlined later. Preamplifiers such as the HPP-432 fall in the
category of unprotected preamps meaning they are not RF-
sensed preamplifiers. This means that if you transmit
into the preamplifier without switching it out of line first you will
damage the preamplifier. Some radios when keyed will put out
an RF spike up to the maximum power output of the radio.
While the HPP offers some spike protection, using the radio's
PTT to key the linear amplifier and letting the linear amplifier
sequence the preamplifier is not recommended.
