Check if the connected MFD is compatible with the Epson Open Platform. Note: When Epson Open Platform is already setup for the MFD, you can check from Web Config and MFD panel. See the following confirmation method. “Checking the Epson Open Platform version” on page 12 If the device is compatible, you will see the following label on the carton box and on the MFD near the serial number. -

Product key This is the product key to activate Epson Open Platform. To acquire this product key, you need the serial numbers of the respective MFDs. You can find the serial number on the product's Guarantee Form, or on the label on the rear or side of the product. - Page 8 Return to step 2, and then follow the same steps. Select Read from text file (you can enter multiple serial numbers) from Serial Number(required). Click Browse, select the serial number list file you created in step 3, and then click Open. You can check that authentication cards can be read in Web Config. On a computer, open your web browser, and then open the MFD's Web Config by entering "http:// <epson-device-IP>". Navigate to System Settings, and then select Card Reader. Hold the authentication card over the authentication device. -

Check the file name. Returning the MFD to a standard device Release the Epson Open Platform to return the MFD to its standard settings. You need the firmware for the standard device to return to standard settings.
