Control Section

6-4-1.
CA-92 Board (XVS-8000)
The CA-92 board performs the following processing.
• Various kinds of control by the CPU-DP module
• Gigabit Ethernet HUB
• Generating a clock signal and a timing signal in synchronization with the reference signal
• Monitoring entire unit
Various kinds of control by the CPU-DP module
Device control on the board
The CPLD (IC1) decodes the bus address of the CPU-DP module and generates chip select signals and buffer control
signals. With these signals, the CPU-DP module reads and writes the flash memory and peripheral devices on the board.
Controlling video signal processing boards through the external bus
The CPLD (IC1) generates buffer control signals from the CPU-DP module bus. With these signals, EXTBUS (for the
FRONT board) and EXTBUS2 (for the REAR board) are extended to control boards connected to EXTBUS and
EXTBUS.
Gigabit Ethernet HUB
A 12-port hub is formed by using the Gigabit Ethernet HUB chip (IC1401, 1501, IC1601) to enable communication
between video signal processing boards connected to the hub.
Generating a clock signal and a timing signal in synchronization with the reference signal
Clock Generation
IC2001 generates HSOUT, VSOUT, and OEOUT signals from the REF_IN signal that is input from the MB-1223 board.
IC2003 generates VCLK signals for HD and SD by using these signals.
Clock Distribution
VCLK signals generated in IC2003 and the TOF and UID signals from the CPLD (IC2) are output through the differential
buffer to the MB-1223 board. With these signals, necessary clock signals are distributed to video signal processing
boards connected to the MB-1223 board.
Monitoring entire unit
Fan speed control
The speed of the six fans on the side of the unit is controlled while monitoring the unit inside temperature.
Monitoring power unit status
The power unit status is monitored by reading four status signals (PS_DC_OK, PS_AC_OK, PS_FAULT, PS_EXIST)
from the power unit and the detailed status in the power unit through the PS_I2C bus.
Based on the obtained information, power consumption of video boards in the unit is controlled by the DC_ENABLE
signal.
Monitoring local power
The status of the local regulator on the CA-92 board is monitored to check the board power for any abnormality.
