1-16. Updating the Software
The software of this unit can be updated by the following
procedures.
Equipment
. ROM-28 board (Sony Part No. : A-8326-017-A)
. Extension board EX-854 (Sony Part No. : A-8344-228-A)
Preparation
Save the updating program in the ROMs H (IC2) and L
(IC3) on the ROM-28 board.

For details of saving the updating program, contact your
local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
Procedures
1. Extend the AT-156 board using the EX-854 board.
2. Connect the connector CN1 on the ROM-28 board to
the connector CN401 on the AT-156 board.
3. Set the switch S1 on the ROM-28 board to DOWN
LOAD side.

4. Turn on the power. Then the data stored in the ROM-
28 board are transferred to the ROM on the AT-156
board.
While writing, TALLY lamp blink and then lights on
completion of writing.

The TALLY lamp is not blink/lights when performing
the updating without the AU-297 board.
5. Turn off the power, and remove the ROM-28 board.
6. Restore the AT-156 board to the original position.
7. Turn on the power. The updating of the software starts.
