Unpack
Unlock
Unlock the scanner.
Assemble
Connect the cover cable.
Note: Do not connect the USB cable yet.

Unlock the transparency unit
transportation lock.
Connect the AC adapter and power cable.
Install software
Insert the scanner software CD.
Macintosh OS X:
Double-click the CD-ROM icon
on the desktop.
Connect and turn on

User's Guide icon on your desktop.
Click Install and follow the on-screen instructions. At the end, remove the CD.
Insert the Adobe ® Photoshop ® Elements 3.0 CD and follow the on-screen
instructions. (Supported by Windows ® XP and 2000, or Macintosh
later only.)
Connect the USB cable. Turn on the scanner using the power switch.
