Measurement of frequency and period
This will be explained taking the drawing at follows as
an example.
One period covers the time A and time B , which are sepa
rated from each other by 2 .0 div on the screen.
When the sweep time is 1 ms/DIV, the period is give n by
1 ms/div x 2 . 0 = 2.0ms
=2.0 x 1 0- 3
Accordingly, the frequency is
1 /(2.0 x 1 0 - 3 )
(However, whe n the knob MAG x l O is at pulled out posi
tion, TIME/DIV must be converted to 1 / 1 0 since the sweep
is magnified.)

(4) Measurement of time difference
Triggering signal source "SOURCE" is selected as offering
reference signal when me asuring the time difference be
tween two signals. Assume that pulse trains as shown in (a).
Then (b) shows the case when CH 1 is take n as the triggering
signal source and (c) the case where CH2 is taken.
