Note: Before installing imagePRESS Server user software, you must disconnect any measurement instrument from the computer. Otherwise, after installation the instrument may not be recognized by the software. Note: Fiery JobMaster is distributed by EFI. Canon does not distribute the option. Installing user software on a Windows computer All installation of user software on a Windows computer is done with the Fiery User Software Installer. -

Important: Do not attempt to install user software by opening the individual folders for the applications. To modify or remove user software after you install it on your computer, use the Fiery User Software Installer. -

Utilities Command WorkStation Soft Proof Soft Proof allows you to preview print jobs on a monitor. Use soft proofs to preview the layout and position of elements on the page as they will appear when the job is printed. Access soft proofing through the Preview window in Command WorkStation. Open a processed, held job in the Preview window in Command WorkStation, and a raster preview will be displayed. -

Using Smart Media If a user-defined media is loaded into a paper cassette on Canon imagePRESS C10000VP/C8000VP, and you change the paper size in the cassette, the Smart Media feature in Paper Catalog may not work. When adding new media, make sure that it is supported for the tray, otherwise the Smart Media feature will not work. -

If a tray is loaded with a standard size, for example, A4, tray association lists both the standard letter size and the custom size closest to A4, but in Paper Catalog, you can only select a media entry with the standard paper size. -

Utilities Scan Configuring Fiery Remote Scan When you open Fiery Remote Scan for the first time, you must configure the connection to the imagePRESS Server. You can add more than one imagePRESS Server to the Fiery Server list in Fiery Remote Scan and select the required one from the list. -

Utilities Hot Folders Hot Folders Hot Folders provide a simple and automated method of sending print jobs to the imagePRESS Server across the network. You drag documents to a folder that stores and reuses preset print options for printing PostScript and PDF files on the imagePRESS Server. -
