• Do not set the router on the benchtop or floor in such a way that the router bit contacts the
benchtop or floor. When using the fixed base, lay the router on its side when not using it. If
using the plunge base, lay it on its side or move the router up along the rails so the router bit
is clear of the surface it is sitting on.
• If any type of unsafe condition is noted, notify the lab manager or your professor. If
necessary, place a sign on the router warning other to not use it due to the problem.
