Installing the Transport
Wheels
Parts needed for this procedure:

Wheel shaft, right
1
Wheel shaft, left

Transport wheels (obtain separately)
Procedure
1. Push the kick stand down with your foot and pull
up on the handle to support the mower on the kick
stand.
2. Apply #242 Loctite to the threads of the wheel
shafts.
3. Thread the right wheel shaft into the drive pulley on
the right side of the machine (Figure 6).
Note: The right wheel shaft has left hand threads.

4. Torque the shaft to 65 to 75 ft-lb (88 to 101 N-m).
5. Slide the wheel onto the axle (Figure 7).
6. Pivot the wheel locking clip away from center of
the wheel allowing it to slide farther onto the axle
(Figure 7).

7. Rotate wheel back and forth until it slides completely
onto axle and locking clip is secured in groove on
axle shaft.
8. Repeat procedure on opposite side of machine.
9. Inflate the tires to 12 to 15 psi. (574 to 718 Pa).

Adjusting the Cutting Unit

No Parts Required
Procedure
Before operating the machine, complete the following
adjustments:
• Level the rear drum to the reel.
• Adjust the bedknife to the reel.
• Adjust the height-of-cut.
• Adjust the grass shield height
• Adjust the cut-off bar.
Refer to the Cutting Unit Maintenance section in
Maintenance for instructions on performing these
procedures.
