Warnings
• Periodically inspect cuff, connectors, and hose for signs of wear or
deterioration. Replace damaged or deteriorated cuffs and
components, as required.
• Replace cuff if hook-and-loop fails to hold during inflation.
Patient Safety:
• Do not use cuff on a limb with an intravenous infusion or arterial
catheter. This could cause tissue damage around the catheter when
infusion is slowed or blocked during cuff inflation.
• Do not use cuff on a patient with sickle-cell disease or any condition
where skin damage has occurred or is expected.
• Do not wrap the cuff too tightly around the limb. It may cause
discoloration and ischemia of the extremities.
• Inspect the application site regularly to ensure skin quality is
normal.
• Inspect the extremity of the cuffed limb for normal color, warmth,
and sensitivity. If the skin quality changes, or if the extremity
circulation is being affected, move the cuff to another site or stop the
BP measurements immediately.
• Check the cuff more frequently when making automatic or stat
measurements.
