Removal and Replacement Procedures

5.8 Optical Drive

24X Max DVD-ROM/CD-RW combination drive
8X Max DVD-ROM drive
24X Max CD-ROM drive
1. Prepare the notebook for disassembly (Section 5.3).
2. Turn the notebook bottom side up with the front facing
forward.
3. Remove the PM2.5×7.0 screw 1 that secures the optical
drive to the notebook.
4. Insert a slender tool into the slot in the hard drive bay and
push to the right to disengage the optical drive from the
notebook 2.
Removing the Optical Drive
5. Remove the optical drive.
Reverse the above procedure to install an optical drive.
