WARNING 2.1 NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame in the vicinity of a battery or engine. 2.2 Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches when working with a lead-acid or lithium ion battery. These batteries can produce a short-circuit current high enough to weld a ring or the like to metal, causing a severe burn.

CHARGER LOCATION WARNING WARNING WARNING RISK OF EXPLOSION AND CONTACT WITH BATTERY ACID. 4.1 Locate the charger as far away from the battery as the DC cables permit. 4.2 Never place the charger directly above the battery being charged; gases from the battery will corrode and damage the charger. 4.3 Do not set the battery on top of the charger.

    FOLLOW THESE STEPS WHEN BATTERY IS OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WARNING WARNING WARNING A SPARK NEAR THE BATTERY MAY CAUSE A BATTERY EXPLOSION. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A SPARK NEAR THE BATTERY: 7.1 Check the polarity of the battery posts. The POSITIVE (POS, P, +) battery post usually has a larger diameter than the NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -) post.

    The charger does not have an ON/OFF switch. The On and Off commands are controlled by plugging the SPI1224 into an AC electrical wall outlet only after the battery connections have been made. Do not start the vehicle with the charger connected to the AC outlet, or it IMPORTANT may damage the charger and your vehicle.

    CHARGING 1. Ensure that all of the charger components are in place and in good working condition. 2. Connect the battery, following the precautions listed in sections 6 and 7. 3. Connect the AC power following the precautions listed in section 8. 4.

    MAINTAINING A BATTERY The SPI1224 maintains 12V and 24V batteries, keeping them at full charge. It is not recommended for industrial applications. NOTE: The maintain mode technology allows you to safely charge and maintain a healthy battery for extended periods of time.

    RECONDITION TIME REMAINING XXX MINUTES – Recondition mode has started. The remaining time on the display counts down from 180 minutes. RECONDITION SUCCESSFUL-START NORMAL CHARGING – Shows on display for 60 seconds after a successful Recondition. WARNING-CLAMPS REVERSED (No LED lit) – The output clamps are connected backwards to a battery.
