    REMOTE CONTROL REMOTE CONTROL The descriptions in this manual are based on the buttons on the remote control. Please read this manual carefully and use the TV correctly. To replace batteries, open the battery cover, replace batteries (1.5 V AAA) matching ends to the label inside the compartment, and close the battery cover.

    WATCHING TV WATCHING TV Connecting an antenna Connect an antenna to watch TV while referring to the following. To prevent damage do not connect to the mains outlet until all connections are made between the devices. Connect the TV to a wall antenna socket with an RF cable (75 Ω).

    PENTOUCH PENTOUCH Using Pentouch Pentouch allows you to use touch pen supported features like Sketchbook, Photo Editor, Family Diary, Gallery, Internet and My Office. WARNING Do not drop or throw the touch pen.Do not swing the touch pen with the charging cable connected to it.

    CD . The installation screen appears automatically.     For more information, please refer to the user manual(Touch Pen,Dongle). Touch pens and dongles are sold sepa- rately at LG Electronics stores. When you leave your touch pen unused for a certain period of time (10 minutes), the pen automatically powers off.
  • Page 40 PENTOUCH Keep the touch pen within 50 cm of the dongle. Press the /Home button on the touch pen once. The LED indicator on the touch pen will turn red for 2 seconds and blink green 3 times when pairing is complete. Once the touch pen is paired, the red LED will blink once when you press the ton.

    3D IMAGING 3D IMAGING (Only 3D Models) 3D Technology This TV can display in 3D via 3D broadcasting or when the TV is connected to a compatible device, such as a Blu-ray 3D Player. You need such a device to watch the TV in 3D. The 3D TV displays two separate pictures formatted for each eye.

    NOTE To watch the TV in 3D, you must put on your 3D glasses. For best results, you should wear LG Brand 3D glasses. The 3D imaging may not display properly when using another brand of 3D glasses. Please see the 3D glasses manual for in- structions on how to use the 3D glasses.

The 3D imaging mode is disabled automatically when switching DTV channels or input source. The screen may not be displayed properly if you view 2D DTV images in 3D imaging mode. 3D effect can be seen when 3D Mode is selected appropriately for the 3D input signal supplied to the TV.

    ENTERTAINMENT ENTERTAINMENT Connecting to a wired network (Depending on model) Connect the TV to a local area network (LAN) via the LAN port as shown on the following illustration and set up the network settings. If wired and wireless networks are both available, wired is the preferred method.

Option Resolution Auto Configure Position Size Phase Reset Description Selects a proper resolution when your PC uses. Sets the TV to optimize the options automatically for the TV display. Locates the image at the proper position. Adjusts the image size.
  • Page 73 Basic image options Setting Contrast Increases or decreases the gradient of the video signal. You may use Contrast when the bright part of the picture is saturated. Brightness Adjusts the base level of the signal in the picture. Sharpness Adjusts the level of crispness in the edges between the light and dark areas of the picture. The lower the level, the softer the image.

    Select when you watch sports events. Select when you play games. Infinite Surround is a patented LG proprietary sound processing technology that strives immersive 5.1 surround sound impression with front two loudspeakers. Controls the dominant sounds in the output. When you turn up the treble, it will increase the output to the higher frequency range.
  • Page 77 Setting Digital Audio This function allows you to select your preferred Digital Audio Output. When Dolby Digital is available, selecting Auto in the Digital Audio Out menu will set SPDIF(Sony Philips Digital InterFace) output to Dolby Digital. If Auto is selected in the digital audio out menu when Dolby Digital is not available, SPDIF output will be PCM(Pulse-code modulation).
