OPERATION
WARNING! Ensure that you read, understand and apply the safety instructions in Section 1.
F
WARNING! All valves must be CLOSED and the pipe clamp tightened before applying air pressure to the unit.
F
Note: Prior to initial use, open all valves, allow any residual pressures to vent and then close all the valves.
Note: Numbers in brackets refer to item numbers on the Parts Diagram.
IMPORTANT! Ensure that there is sufficient capacity in the drainer reservoir before starting the draining procedure.

4.1.
Gravity feed oil drainer
4.1.1. Raise the oil pan (79) to the required height and lock in place with clamp (84).
4.1.2. Open the support pipe valve (77) and the air valve (34).
4.1.3. Remove the vehicle’s oil drain plug and the oil will drain via the oil pan into the reservoir under gravity.
4.2.
Creating a vacuum
4.2.1. With all valves closed, connect the air supply to the venturi quick connector (25/16) and turn on air supply at a pressure of 8 - 9 bar.
4.2.2. Open ball valve (15) and pressure in reservoir will begin to fall as shown on the vacuum gauge (13).
4.2.3. When vacuum gauge shows -0.8 - 0.9 bar close ball valve (15), turn off air supply and disconnect the air line from the coupling.
4.3.
Suction feed - probes
4.3.1. Create a vacuum, as described in 4.2.
4.3.2. Select a probe to suit the engine to be drained and connect it to the vacuum hose (101).
4.3.3. Remove the engine oil dipstick and insert the probe into dipstick tube.
4.3.4. Open the ball valves at either end of the hose (101/34) and the oil will be drawn from the sump into the reservoir.
Note: Once the sump is empty, air will be drawn in and reservoir will revert to atmospheric pressure (vacuum gauge will show zero).
4.4.
Suction feed - oil pan
4.4.1. Create a vacuum, as described in 4.2.
4.4.2. Open the support pipe valve (77) and the oil will be sucked into the reservoir.
Note: Once the oil pan is empty, air will be drawn in and reservoir will revert to atmospheric pressure (vacuum gauge will show zero).
4.5.
Emptying
WARNING! The support pipe clamp (84) MUST be tightened before the reservoir is pressurised. Failure to do this will result in
F
the support pipe and oil pan being ejected with some force, causing damage and possible injury.
4.5.1. Ensure that all valves are closed and connect the air supply at a pressure of 2 - 2.5 bar to the air inlet coupling (34/16).
4.5.2. Open the inlet ball valve (34)and allow the reservoir to pressurise until safety valve (29) vents. Close the inlet ball valve and disconnect
air supply.
4.5.3. Place the end of the hose (101) in the waste oil container and then open the hose ball valves (101/34).
4.5.4. When all waste oil is displaced from reservoir any remaining air pressure will be lost. Confirm that reservoir pressure is zero on pressure
gauge (22) and then close valve (34) between hose and tank.
Note: Never leave the drainer with pressure, or vacuum, in the reservoir.
4.5.5. At regular intervals remove the reservoir plug (68) and drain off accumulated sludge.
IMPORTANT! Dispose of waste oil in accordance with local authority regulations.
