MOUNTING
3.1.
Wall mount the reel using the bracket provided. Ensure the wall and the mounting screws and plugs will adequately support the weight
of the reel and the tension of the cable.
3.2.
Ensure that the cable can be pulled out to, and reeled back from, work sites without rubbing on the sides of the cable entry.
4.
OPERATION
4.1.
Cable lock - all models except CRM8/230
4.1.1. To lock the cable whilst in an extended position, the recoil control (fig.1) should be positioned
so that pin ‘A’ is engaged in slot ‘B’.
Regular bursts of ‘clicking’ will be heard as the cable is pulled off the reel. When the tension is
released the cable will retract slightly and then lock.
4.1.2. To release the cable and allow it to automatically rewind, pull the cable out from the locked position
until the clicking stops and then release.
4.1.3. To release the ratchet, so that the cable remains in constant tension, pull out the recoil
control (fig.1), so that pin ‘A’ is disengaged from slot ‘B’, and turn through approx. 90
4.2.
Cable lock - CRM8/230
4.2.1. The recoil control spring and lever are beneath the black, hinged cover.
4.2.2. To lock the cable whilst in an extended position, the recoil control spring should be on the anchor
pin which is level with the supply cable inlet.
Regular bursts of ‘clicking’ will be heard as the cable is pulled off the reel. When the tension is released the cable will retract slightly
and then lock.
4.2.3. To release the cable and allow it to automatically rewind, pull the cable out from the locked position until the clicking stops and then release.
4.2.4. To release the ratchet, so that the cable remains in constant tension, move the recoil control spring onto the anchor pin which is level
with the thermal cut-out reset button.
WARNING! The reel tension is factory set, if any adjustment is required contact an authorised service agent. DO NOT remove any of
the black spring cover screws.

4.3.
Thermal cut-out
4.3.1.
In the event of the reel being overloaded the cut-out will trip. If this occurs disconnect reel from the 230V supply and then determine and
rectify the cause of overload.
4.3.2.
Reconnect to the supply and press the cut-out reset button (having allowed two or three minutes for cooling).
