Installing and Removing the Battery Pack

(Fig. F)
NoTE: For best results, make sure your battery pack is
fully charged.
To install the battery pack
battery pack with the rails inside the tool's handle and slide it
into the handle until the battery pack is firmly seated in the
tool and ensure that it does not disengage.
To remove the battery pack from the tool, press the release
button 7 and firmly pull the battery pack out of the tool
handle. Insert it into the charger as described in the charger
section of this manual.

WARNING: Do not operate blower without blow
tube securely in place. Never reach down into housing
through tube hole.

WARNING: Always wear safety glasses. Always wear
respiratory protection. Always wear hearing protection.
Use of rubber gloves and substantial footwear is
recommended when working outdoors. Keep long hair
and loose clothing away from openings and moving
parts. For household use only.

WARNING: Cut Hazard. When turning the tool
off, wait 10 seconds for the fan to stop rotating
before removing the blower tube.
• Always ensure the blower is switched OFF and the
battery is removed when:
You leave blower unattended.

Clearing a blockage.
‑
Checking, adjusting, cleaning or working on blower.
‑
• Only use blower in daylight or good artificial light.
Switching ON/OFF (Fig. A, D, E)

WARNING: Use both hands to grip the product firmly
when switching on.

CAUTION: Do not point unit discharge at self
or bystanders.
• To turn the blower on, depress the variable speed
trigger 1 Release the trigger to turn the blower off.
• To lock the blower on, pull back on the speed lock
lever 2 , as shown in Fig. D. The blower runs at higher
speeds as the lever is moved further.
• The speed lock lever can also be pulled back to start
the blower without needing to first depress the trigger
switch.
• To turn the blower off when using the speed lock lever,
push the lever toward the front of the blower.
• Hold the blower with one hand as shown in Fig. E and
sweep from side to side with the tube
above the hard surface. Slowly advance keeping the
accumulated pile of debris in front of you.

replacing line, or prior to cleaning. An accidental

care and regular cleaning.
Cleaning

WARNING: Blow dirt and dust out of all air vents with
clean, dry air at least once a week. To minimize the
risk of eye injury, always wear approved eye protection
when performing this procedure.

WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh
chemicals for cleaning the non‑metallic parts of the
tool. These chemicals may weaken the plastic materials
used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened only with
water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the
tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
Accessories

WARNING: Since accessories, other than those offered
by D WALT, have not been tested with this product, use

of such accessories with this tool could be hazardous.

accessories should be used with this product.
Recommended accessories for use with your tool are
available at extra cost from your local dealer or authorized
service center.
Repairs
The charger and battery pack are not serviceable.

repairs, maintenance and adjustment (including brush
inspection and replacement) should be performed by a
