IP Address
A set of numbers which are assigned to devices
participating in a computer network.
JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
JPEG is a method of compressing still picture files.
You can copy JPEG files on BD-RE/-R, DVD-RW/-R,
CD-RW/-R, or USB memory stick from a computer and
play back the files on this unit.

Local Storage
A storage area of sub contents for playing virtual
packages on BD-Video.
MP3 (MPEG audio layer 3)
MP3 is a method of compressing files. You can copy
MP3 files on BD-RE/-R, DVD-RW/-R, CD-RW/-R, or USB
memory stick from the computer and play back the
files on this unit.
Netflix
Netflix is online movie rental service, offering online
streaming to customers in the United States.
PCM (Pulse Code Modulation)
The most common system of encoding digital audio,
found on CD and DAT. Excellent quality, but requires
a lot of data compared to formats such as Dolby
Digital and MPEG audio. For compatibility with digital
audio recorders (CD, MD and DAT) and AV amplifiers
with digital Inputs, this unit can convert Dolby Digital,
DTS, and MPEG audio to PCM. See also "Digital
Audio" on page 67.
PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
PNG is a type of bitmap (still picture) file format.
Proxy Server
Proxy server is a server which acts as an intermediary
between a workstation user and the Internet to ensure
security.
Region Code
Regions associate discs and players with particular
areas of the world. This unit will only play back discs
that have compatible region codes. You can find the
region code of your unit by looking on the rear panel.
Some discs are compatible with more than one region
(or all regions).
Router
A networking device which distinguishes the IP
address assigned to each device and routing and
forwarding information in the computer network.
