    SAFETY LABELS A chute clean-out tool is fastened to the top Chute Clean-out of the auger housing with a mounting clip. The Tool tool is designed to clear a chute assembly of ice and snow. This item is fastened with a cable tie at the factory.

    ASSEMBLY IMPORTANT: The snow thrower is shipped with oil and WITHOUT GASOLINE. After assembly, refer to separate engine manual for proper fuel and engine oil recommendations. Loose Parts • The augers are secured to the auger shaft with shear pins and bow tie cotter pins.
  • Page 8 ASSEMBLY Attaching the Chute Assembly • Remove locknuts and screws securing one of the flange keepers to the chute assembly. See Figure 4. • Loosen but do not remove the locknuts and screws on the other two flange keepers. • Slide chute assembly over chute opening, making sure the flange keepers are beneath lip of chute adapter.
  • Page 9 ASSEMBLY Drift Cutters Drift cutters should be used when operating the snow thrower in heavy drift conditions. • Remove the carriage bolts by unthreading the hex nuts which secure them, and reinstall the drift cutters facing forward before Chute Clean-out Tool operating the snow thrower.
  • Page 10 ASSEMBLY the shift lever from 6 to R2 or when attempting to move the machine with the drive control released, adjust the drive control immediately. To adjust, proceed as follows: • Loosen the nylock nut on the drive control cable and unthread the cable one full turn.

  • Page 12 OPERATION Auger Control The auger control is located on the left handle. Squeeze the auger control to engage the augers. Release to stop the snow throwing action. The drive control must also be released in order to stop auger Wheel Steering Controls The left and right wheel steering controls are located on the underside of the handles.

  • Page 18 MAINTENANCE 3. a. Loosen the bolt shown in Figure 23 securing the belt keeper bracket and remove the other bolt. b. Push the belt keeper and bracket up off the engine pulley. See Figure 24. Auger Belt 4. Remove the hairpin clip and flat washer from the ferrule in order to disconnect the auger idler rod from the brake bracket assembly.

Place a block of wood underneath the auger housing as shown in Figure 28 and separate auger housing from the frame by tilting the Adapter housing forward and pulling up the handles. 9. a. Using a 1/2” wrench, remove the hex screw and washer from the center of the pulley on the auger housing.

    TROUBLESHOOTING WARNINg Before performing any type of maintenance/service, disengage all controls and stop the engine. Wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop. Disconnect spark plug wire and ground it against the engine to prevent unintended starting. Always wear safety glasses during operation or while performing any adjustments or repairs.
