    Important service information Strategy for replacing a hard-disk drive Always try to run a low-level format before replacing a hard-disk drive. Attention: The drive startup sequence in the computer you are servicing may have been changed. Be extremely careful during write operations such as copying, saving, or formatting.

    Checkout guide Checking operational charging To check whether the battery charges properly during operation, use a discharged battery pack or a battery pack that has less than 50 % of the total power remaining when installed in the computer. Perform operational charging. If the battery status indicator or icon does not turn on, remove the battery pack and let it return to room temperature.

Screw notices Loose screws can cause a reliability problem. In IBM ThinkPad computer, this problem is addressed with special nylon-coated screws that have the following characteristics: v They maintain tight connections.
