SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read this owner's manual thoroughly before operating the appliance and keep it handy for reference at all times. The date of manufacture is indicated on the label on the side of the product. Date Form: YY.MM

The following safety guidelines are intended to prevent unforeseen risks or damage from unsafe or incorrect operation of the appliance.

The guidelines are separated into 'WARNING' and 'CAUTION' as described below.

This symbol is displayed to indicate matters and operations that can cause risk. Read the part with this symbol carefully and follow the instructions in order to avoid risk.

This indicates that the failure to follow the instructions can cause serious injury or death.

This indicates that the failure to follow the instructions can cause minor injury or damage to the product.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

To reduce the risk of explosion, fire, death, electric shock, injury or scalding to persons when using this product, follow basic precautions, including the following:

Children in the Household

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Installation

Do not install the appliance in the following environment.
- Where combustible gas may leak
- Where industrial oil or metallic particulates are present
- Near the vehicle window, electric pad or stove
- Inside a blanket
- A position of high temperature or high humidity such as a dry sauna or swimming pool
Do not let the moisture from the humidifier directly touch the appliance.

Operation

When severe thunder and lighting occur, do not use the product in an outdoor environment, and disconnect the power cable and the charger from the product.
Do not attempt to operate the product during driving, walking or moving.
Do not use or charge the product when it is wet.
Protect the charging terminal from foreign substances.
Only an authorized repair person from LG Electronics service centre should disassemble, repair, or modify the appliance.
If the appliance is immersed in water, stop using it and contact the LG Electronics service centre.
Do not use or store flammable or combustible materials near the product.
If you detect any abnormal noise, odour or smoke, unplug the product immediately and contact an LG Electronics service centre.
Do not allow the charging cable to be pressed, bent forcibly by a heavy object or damaged by a pet.
Do not insert hands, metal objects or flammble objects into the air inlet/outlet or the inlet of the particles sensor.
Do not place anything(coffee, flower vase or drinks etc.) on top of the appliance.
Do not install and use broken parts.
Do not put foreign substances into the product when the product cover is kept open.
If you do not use the product for a long period of time, remove the charging cable from the product.
Do not ride on the product, or let the product topple by excessive force.
Do not use the product for any purpose other than the intended air purifier.
Protect the product from foreign substances such as water, coffee and beverage.

Battery

The product operates with the built-in battery. Do not remove or replace the battery by yourself. The battery should only be replaced by service engineer authorised by LG Electronics.
Use the battery and the charging accessories approved by LG Electronics only.

Disposal

Dispose of the packing materials (vinyl, styrofoam etc.) to keep them out of reach of children.

Installation

If the product is installed in a place with vibration or unevenness, it may cause loud product noise or vibration.
Do not install the product on an uneven or inclined surface.
When using in a car, please firmly fix it to the cup holder that matches the product size.
Do not leave the product at a place of excessively high or low temperature.
Do not place the appliance near a TV, a stereo equipment an electronic device in the vehicle.

Operation

Do not clean with strong detergents of solvent types, but use soft cloth.
Be careful not to allow any part of your body to be pinched when you detach and reattach parts of the appliance.
Do not install the appliance near curtains which could block the air inlet or outlet.
Do not drop or impact the appliance.
Do not apply excessive force to the product button to press it.
Do not place the appliance under bright light.
Fully charge the battery if you wish to use it again after leaving it for a long period of time.
When you visit an LG Electronics service centre due to a battery problem, bring your product charger.

UNPACKING

Components

The exterior or components of the product may vary depending on the model.

Installing the filter

Press the hook of the filter cover at the back of the product and separate it by pulling it slightly.
Remove the protective vinyl from the filter and install it with the side where the handle is attached facing up.
Fix the bottom of the filter cover to the product and close the cover.

Be sure to remove the filter protective vinyl before using the product. Failure to do so may cause product malfunction.
Pay attention to filter direction when installing it. Failure to do so may cause product malfunction and failure.

Charging the battery

This product has a built-in battery. Use the product after connecting the AC adapter and charging the battery fully.

Connect the USB cable to the AC adapter.
Connect the USB cable to the DC IN 5 V port of this product.
Connect the power plug to the power outlet.

The AC adapter should be purchased separately. It is recommended to use an AC adapter (5 V, 1.8 A) approved by LG Electronics. Using an unapproved charger may cause risk of failure and variation in the charging time.
When connecting to a vehicle USB port or a PC USB port, the current may be lower than the outlet, which may slow down the charge rate or cause product failure.
Charging the battery may be stopped for safety if the temperature of the battery is excessively high or low.

NOTE

The charging time is approximately 4 hours.
The operating time is 2 hours based on high (H) and 8 hours based on low (L) when the battery is fully charged.
The charging and operating time of the product may vary depending on the operating status of the battery or the product.
As the battery is a consumable item, the battery runtime will gradually decrease as time passes.
If the operating hours of the battery drop below a half of those of the new battery, visit the customer service centre of LG Electronics for replacing the battery with a new battery. (Battery replacement is charged after the warranty period.)
The battery, which is not fully charged, is shipped from the factory. Fully charge the battery before using the product for the first time.

Checking the charging status of the battery

When the AC adapter connected to the power outlet is connected to this device, the battery charging will begin.

Checking the battery status

If the remaining battery level is below 15%, the power indicator lamp will blink.

NOTE

The remaining battery capacity cannot be checked during charging.
If the air purifier is connected to a smart device, you can check the battery status through the 'Puricare Mini' app. It may be different from actual remaining battery level.

It is used to turn on or off the product.
- When you press this button for 5 seconds or more while the product is operating, the product will be turned off completely. When you store the product for 6 months or longer, turn off the product completely.

It allows you to adjust the air flow of the product.
- Pressing it for 3 seconds or more will activate the Bluetooth pairing mode.

Getting started

Press the Start/Stop button to start the operation.

Adjusting the Fan Speed

Press the Speed button during operation to adjust the air flow.

Continuously pressing the button repeats the operation modes in the sequences of Auto → Low (L) → High (H) → Turbo → Auto, and so on.

NOTE

The speed is set to Auto when you first start the operation. Auto mode controls the fan speed automatically according to the contamination level of the indoor air.
When you start the operation again after stopping it, the operation will begin with the last selected speed.
You can check the speed from the status display panel.
When the operation begins, the light of air quality turns white during the particles sensor stabilization time (30 seconds). When stabilization of the particles sensor is completed, the light of air quality indicates air quality.

Using the Turbo Mode

The product operates powerfully for 30 minutes to purify indoor air promptly.
Using the Turbo Mode

You can use the Turbo mode by pressing the Speed button during operation. All lights of Speed turn on when the product is operating in the Turbo mode.
You can use the Turbo mode by pressing the Turbo button on the main screen of the Puricare Mini app.
When you operate the product in Turbo mode, the product operates for 30 minutes and then returns to the previous mode.

Checking the Air Quality

You can check the air quality through the light of air quality. The light of air quality indicates the level of air quality in 4 colours, green, yellow, orange and red, based on concentration of the particles.

The concentration of the particles can be checked using the Puricare Mini app.

NOTE

If the concentration of the particles is kept high even after changing the operation environment, visit your customer service centre to clean the particles sensor.

Using the air quality monitoring function

You can execute the Puricare Mini app and set the time to turn on the particles sensor through the product management menu.

Always On: Monitor the air quality even when product operation is suspended

NOTE

The concentration of particles could be affected by cooking or using humidifiers, sprays or other products which generate steam or fine particles.
Even two products placed in the same space could measure the concentration of particles differently due to air circulation.
The concentration of the particles displayed may change with environmental factors such as the presence of sofas, beds, carpets, vacuum cleaners, humidity, smoke, bugs, pets or cooking oils.
The PM concentration may be affected by changes in the outside environment such as construction, heavy traffic or pollen.
The concentration of the particles could be higher near outside doors, windows, vents or in areas where outside air enters. Air flow near the particles sensor may interrupt normal operation of the particles sensor and indicated concentration may be different from actual particles concentration, accordingly.
Be careful as the battery may be discharged rapidly when the air quality monitoring function is used.
PM (particulate matter) concentration is displayed in increments of 1 unit, from 8 to 999. PM concentration values are based on the data sheet provided by the sensor manufacturer.
The PM concentration measurement was tested using LG Electronics' standard test materials.

SMART FUNCTIONS

Using the Puricare Mini Bluetooth app
You can use the product more conveniently by installing the Puricare Mini Bluetooth app on your smartphone.

Search for and install PuriCare Mini app from Google Play or the Apple App store on your smartphone. Refer to help in the application for detailed instructions.

Pairing

Pairing is a process of mutual registration of Bluetooth devices. Once pairing is complete, no further pairing is required.

Execute the Puricare Mini app on the smartphone and press the Start Registration button.
Press the Speed button on the product for 3 seconds or more.
After confirming that the Bluetooth indicator lamp of the product blinks, begin pairing.
Select a product to register from the app screen on your smartphone.
When the Bluetooth connection between this app and the product is established, the Bluetooth indicator lamp on the product will turn on.
If pairing with the smartphone is not established within 3 minutes, the Bluetooth indicator lamp will turn off.

NOTE

When connecting the product with your smartphone, use the product as close as possible. In any of the following cases, the Bluetooth function may not work properly even at close range.
- If there is an obstacle or a person between the product and the smartphone
- If a device that uses the same frequency with the Bluetooth such as a medical device, microwave oven or wireless LAN is near the product and the smartphone, the pairing may fail due to interference from other radio waves.
The Bluetooth function may not operate depending on the specifications of the smartphone.
Even if you turn off the product, the product will enter the stand-by mode, allowing you to operate the product through the connected smartphone.
If the distance between the product and the smartphone increases, the Bluetooth connection will be disconnected.
The Bluetooth connection status of this product can be checked through the Bluetooth indicator lamp ON/OFF on the product. (When the connection is established, the Bluetooth indicator lamp will turn on.)
When you use multiple products connected on a single mobile phone, you can select the desired product by scrolling through the screen from the left to the right.
It is recommended to use the PuriCare Mini app on Android version 8.0 or higher.

Bluetooth function

Use the following functions through the smartphone connected with this product.

You can start/stop the product.
You can adjust the Speed to 7 levels manually.
You can adjust purifying mode to Auto/Manual/Turbo mode.
You can check current air conditions, and the concentration of the particles by numeric value.
You can set the air quality monitoring.
You can check the history of contamination levels.
You can manage the filter (service life and replacement cycle).
You can turn on and off the product automatically.
Refer to help in the application for detailed functions.

MAINTENANCE

Make sure to stop battery charging and product operation before cleaning and replacing the filter.
Do not spray water directly on the appliance.

NOTE

The operating environment and operation hours may affect the replacement frequency.
Noise may occur if the filter is contaminated.
If it is necessary to replace the filter, contact a nearby service centre.
A filter is a consumable item. Therefore you must buy a new one for replacement when it has reached the end of its lifespan even during the warranty period. Contact the LG Electronics service centre or consumables shop on the LG Electronics site (www.lg.com).

Cleaning the ultra-fine filter

Remove the filter cover from the product.
Remove dust from the ultra-fine filter with a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush.

NOTE

Do not wash the filter with water.
Be careful not to damage the ultra-fine filter when you use a vacuum cleaner.

Replacing the filter

Remove the cover and replace the filter.
Once you have replaced the filter, disable the filter replacement alert.
- Press the 'Filter Replacement' button on the filter management menu in the Puricare Mini app to cancel the notice. When the filter replacement notice is cancelled, the replacement notice time and the remaining filter level will be initialized.

Cleaning the product exterior

Remove dust from the air inlet and outlet using a vacuum cleaner.
Wipe the exterior with soft cloth.

Do not wipe the appliance surface using sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid or organic solvent (thinner, kerosene etc.) or attach a sticker on the appliance.
Do not allow the water enter inside the appliance.

Storage

If the appliance is not used for a long period of time, store it in a shaded and dry place.

Operate the product for one hour or more on a fine day. This removes the moisture and prevents molds from building up inside the product.
Separate the charging cable from the product which is operating and turn off the product completely by pressing the power button for at least 5 seconds.
Package the appliance to prevent the dust or foreign substance from entering the appliance. Store the packaged appliance at a shaded place.

Do not store the appliance on the dashboard of a vehicle. Doing so may cause explosion, fire or performance degradation as direct sunlight may increase temperature.

NOTE

Do not store the appliance at a humid place or at a place exposed to the direct sunlight.
Fully charge the battery if you wish to use it again after leaving it for a long period of time.
If you keep the product unused for an extended period of time, you should fully charge the battery every 6 months.
If you keep the product unused for an extended period time with the battery not fully charged, the battery may fail.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptoms	Solution
The appliance does not operate.	Charge the battery. Make sure that the ambient temperature is not excessively high or low. Use an adapter of 1.8 A or higher.
Fan is noisy even on the lowest speed.	Thoroughly clean the ultra-fine filter. Replace the filter.
The indoor air is not purified well enough.	Ventilate the indoor air before you use the product. Clean the ultra-fine filter properly. Replace the filter. Use a product that fits the size of the room. Avoid a well-ventilated place such as a gate, window, etc. Remove the obstacle. Move the appliance and install it again.
The light of air quality continues to stay red.	If the amount of particles is more than the capacity of the product, the display may not change. Turn the product off and on by pressing the Start/Stop button. Do not use spray near the product.
The concentration of particles may not change.	In a closed space, the cleanliness level may continue to stay the same without change.
The concentration of particles continues to remain high.	In an environment or open space where outside air is supplied continuously, the concentration may continue to remain high.
A strange odour comes out from the air outlet as well as the filter.	In a place with a lot of smoke or odour, the air cleaning function may deteriorate. Ventilate the room first and then use the product. Replace the filter. The filter replacement frequency may differ depending on the usage environment.
Bluetooth pairing cannot be done.	Shut down the Bluetooth setting on the smartphone, and then try again. Make sure that the Bluetooth setting is turned on. Keep clear of obstacles between the product and the smart phone. Depending on the type of smartphone or the surrounding environment, Bluetooth pairing may not work well.
