Java Applications
Using Java Applications With the Flip Closed
You must start running all Java applications with the flip open, but some Java
applications can continue running after you close the flip. You can then suspend, view,
and resume without opening the flip.
Suspend a Java application with the flip closed
• If a Java application is running on the external display, press . to suspend it.
View suspended Java applications with the flip closed
To view a list of suspended Java applications that can run on the external display:
• From the idle screen, press . twice.
• From the recent calls list, press ..
Resume a Java application with the flip closed
To resume a Java application that can run with the flip closed:

While viewing the list of suspended applications, use the volume keys to scroll to the
Java application you want to resume.
Press t.

Deleting Java Applications

From the Java Control Panel screen, select the Java application you want to delete.

Select Menu and then select Deinstall Suite.

Select Yes to confirm.

Java Applications and GPS Enabled

Some Java applications make use of your Smartphone's GPS feature to determine the
approximate geographical location of your Smartphone. (See "GPS Enabled" on page
158 for more information on the GPS feature.)
However, for privacy and other reasons, you may not always want Java applications to
access the location of your Smartphone. Your Smartphone protects you by giving you
the option to block all or some Java applications from accessing the location of your
Smartphone. You do this by setting permissions.

When applications request permission to access the location of your Smartphone, you
are prompted to grant or deny permission.
Always
When applications request permission to access the location of your Smartphone, the
request is granted without notifying you.
Never
When applications request permission to access the location of your Smartphone, the
request is denied without notifying you.
Note: Even when you set this option to Ask or Never, location information may still be
available to the Smartphone's owner, fleet manager, or account administrator.
