5. Quick start up

5.1. Step 1: Visual and installation check

Upon reception of the equipment, make sure that
– The packing is in good condition.
– For PQFI/M filters, verify the state of the shock and tilting indicators (if mounted on the enclosure).
– After removal of the packing, check visually the exterior and interior of your filter for transportation damage.
– Your filter equipment comes with an information package that is present in a documentation holder attached at
each filter panel. Verify that all documentation is present, i.e.:
• this quick start manual in printed version and the detailed manuals in a CD-ROM
• the electrical drawing and connection diagram
• the communication cable needed for multi-unit operation
Any loss or damage should be notified immediately to your HITACHI ENERGY representative.
WARNING: Make sure that the filter is installed at a location where no conductive dust is present. Conductive
dust when distributed in the filter panel may lead to equipment failure.
– Check that the mechanical and electrical installation fulfills the requirements. Check for the following:
• Cable size. These are typical cables for some of the common filter ratings. Different combinations of cables
are also possible; please refer to the detailed manuals for more information.
