2.4GHz Digital Cordless Phone
Handset:
With the handset buttons facing you, the antenna is a narrow 2 inch long protrusion on the top right.
Just below the top on the front of the handset is a shallow oval concave. This is the earpiece. The
smooth surface below the earpiece is the display. Immediately blow the display are three buttons in a
horizontal row: from left to right, they are FUNCTION, MUTE, and VOICE ENHANCER buttons.
Below these buttons in the center of the handset is the NAVIGATOR KEY, which is a large
rectangular control with four active areas. The active areas are at the 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock,
and 9 o'clock positions. The 12 and 6 o'clock positions are the UP and DOWN keys and also control
volume up and down during a call. The 3 and 9 o'clock positions are the LEFT and RIGHT arrow
keys. The 3 o'clock position is often used as 'Yes' key during programming. These keys are also the
EDIT and CHANNEL keys respectively. To the upper left of the Navigator key, an oval button with
a clipped edge is the TALK button. The oval button below the TALK button is the SPEAKER
PHONE button. To the upper right of the NAVIGATOR KEY, an oval button with a clipped edge is
the OFF button. The oval button below the OFF button is the HOLD button. The HOLD button is
also the CLEAR button. Below these buttons is the keypad laid out in the conventional telephone
arrangement with a "nib" on the 5 button. On the lower left below the keypad is the FLASH button.
The FLASH button is also the CALL WAIT or VOICE MAIL button. On the lower right of the
keypad is the REDIAL button. The REDIAL button is also the PAUSE button. The indentation
between the FLASH and REDIAL button is the microphone. The 2 metal ridges at the bottom of the
handset are the charge contacts. On the left edge of the handset, parallel to the TALK button, is the
headset jack covered with a little round rubber. This cover is opened from front to back, and is not
completely removable. The triangular pattern of raised texture on the back side of the handset
identifies the battery compartment. The battery door is opened by pushing in and down on this area.
