2. Releases RGB bursts of video signal from the video separator within the
DDP1011 to the DMD device (L board). The RGB video signal bursts are now
locked to the colors on the wheel.
3. Enables the ballast (lamp) to operate (see ballast section of this book). The
180Hz Color Wheel sync signal is doubled to 360 Hz (by DDP1011 on the L
board) before being used as the ballast enable signal ("Lamp En" at L5/pin 9). If
lamp current is not detected, the TV shuts down (see protection circuit part of this
book).
Therefore, the color wheel output is an important early part of the TV start up sequence.
Temperature Output - Refer to figure 14. The temperature sensing IC6904 within the
color wheel assembly is the second output from the color wheel assembly. This signal
is routed to the microprocessor (DG Board) via serial data & clock at L2/pin 4 and pin 5.
