Chapter 1. Introduction ® ® This guide provides instructions on how to install an operating system on the Lenovo ThinkServer RD550 and RD650 servers. The supported operating systems vary by the configuration on your server. The following table provides a list on the supported operating system of your server.

To install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials operating system, do the following: 1. Insert the operating system installation disc into the optical drive that you have set as the first startup device. Connect the USB storage device that contains the required driver to your server. Then, start the server from the optical drive.
