1. SAFETY
Locate the log splitter in a suitable work area, keep the area clean and tidy, free from unrelated materials and ensure there is adequate

lighting.
Keep the log splitter clean for best performance.

Remove ill fitting clothing, ties, watches, rings and other loose jewellery and contain loose hair.

Maintain correct balance and footing, do not over-reach. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-slip, protective footwear.

Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.

DO NOT use the log splitter for a task it is not designed to perform.

DO NOT operate the log splitter if damaged.

DO NOT operate the log splitter when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.

DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the log splitter.

DO NOT make any modifications to the log splitter.

DO NOT operate the log splitter in wet or damp areas or expose it to rain.

Store the log splitter in a safe area away from children and other people not qualified to use the log splitter.

Wear protective gloves. Always wear safety goggles. Everyday spectacles are not sufficient protection.

The log splitter must always be operated by one person only. Other people must keep a safe distance from the log splitter, especially

when it is in operation.
Ensure that there are no nails, screws or other foreign objects in logs to be split.

The end of logs should be cut square.

responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the tool.
2. INTRODUCTION
Heavy-duty steel construction with adjustable foot pedal, splits firewood easily with each step on the foot pedal exerting a splitting force of up to
1.2 Tonne. Minor assembly required. Folds down for easy storage.

4. ASSEMBLY
WARNING! the foot pedal is under tension. Before removing the safety clip, put your hand on the pedal to prevent it flying up and
injuring you.
4.1.
To assemble, ensure that the adjustment screw is wound all the way in, and is touching the back of the splitter head.
4.2.
Remove the safety clip and fit the foot assembly. Refit the safety clip and hook it over the foot pedal.
4.3.
The log splitter is now ready to use.
5. OPERATION
5.1.
ADJUSTING WORKING HEIGHT
5.1.1.
Remove the safety clip and adjust the foot pedal height to at least 33cm (13 inches) by screwing the adjustment screw out (to raise the
foot pedal) and in (to lower the foot pedal.)
5.2.
SPLITTING LOGS (Refer to fig.2)
5.2.1.
Tips:
Wet or non seasoned wood is more difficult to split than dry wood because the fibres stick together.
