The heat-sink-and-fan assembly and microprocessor might be hot. Before you open the computer cover,
turn off the computer and wait for several minutes until the computer is cool.
For access, remove the following parts in order:
1. "Power adapter and power cord" on page 52
2. "Chassis" on page 54.
3. "Hard disk drive" on page 56
4. "M.2 solid-state drive thermal kit" on page 58
5. "M.2 solid-state drive" on page 59
6. "System Fan" on page 60
7. "Memory module" on page 62

10. "Internal speaker" on page 70
11. "Wi-Fi card and Wi-Fi card shield" on page 71
12. "Front Wi-Fi antenna" on page 72
13. "External Wi-Fi antenna" on page 72

15. "Microprocessor" on page 73
Notes:
• Each computer has a unique Vital Product Data (VPD) code that is stored in the nonvolatile memory on the
system board. After you replace the system board, the VPD must be updated.
