    Operating Systems The DSL-2641B uses an HTML-based web interface for setup and management. The web configuration manager may be accessed using any operating system capable of running web browser software, including Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.

    Section 3 – Configuration Configuration This section will show you how to configure your new D-Link wireless router using the web-based configuration utility. Web-based Configuration Utility Connect to the Router To configure the WAN connection used by the Router it is first necessary to communicate with the Router through its management interface, which is HTML-based and can be accessed using a web browser.

    Password The factory default password of this router is 'admin'. To help secure your network, D-Link recommends that you should choose a new password. Please make sure to choose a password you can remember or write it down and keep in a safe and separate location for future reference. If you forget your device password, the only solution is to reset your router to factory default settings and you will loose all your device configuration settings.

    1. Why can’t I access the web-based configuration utility? When entering the IP address of the D-Link router (192.168.1.1 for example), you are not connecting to a website on the Internet or have to be connected to the Internet. The device has the utility built-in to a ROM chip in the device itself.

    Check your IP address After you install your new D-Link adapter, by default, the TCP/IP settings should be set to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server (i.e. wireless router) automatically. To verify your IP address, please follow the steps below.
